How is your trust this Advent season? This message from the Trust in Advent series focuses on Isaiah 7 and Matthew 1, reminding us of God's fulfilled promises—including the one to Joseph: "Don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife". We're reminded that despite the world telling us "the total opposite", we trust that on Christmas Day, the Kingdom was here and God "walked among us". Let's remember that He is born every day in our lives. Open that gift and share it!

Fourth Sunday of Advent

As we continue our Advent journey, Pastor John Kearns from Emmanuel Lutheran begins to unpack the Old Testament reading for the Fourth Sunday in Advent: Isaiah 7:10–17.1 Today, we look at the "Trouble in the Text". King Ahaz, fearing invasion, was offered a sign by the Lord—anything "as deep as Sheol and high as heaven". Yet, Ahaz's response was, "I will not ask and I will not put the Lord to the test".
