Listen for the Voice (4)
Pastor Karen Ward
On this Friday before Pentecost, we're reminded that the Holy Spirit is on the move. As followers of Christ, the best thing we can do is listen for that voice and go with the flow of the Spirit in our ministries and our lives. Rather than getting in the way, we should strive to be conduits for the good news of Jesus in a world that desperately needs it. Consider the imagery of the church as a sailboat pushed by the wind of the Holy Spirit out to sea. We were not made for the safety of the harbor; we were made for the sea. Even when the waters are wild, cold, or dark, that is where we are meant to be. While the Spirit may send us into choppy waters, it also protects and guides us. Blessings on your sermon preparation!
