Readings for Jan 25th 2025 Third Sunday after Epiphany

Join Alicia Anderson, Campus Minister with Lutheran Campus Ministry at Penn State, for the readings for January 25th, the third Sunday after Epiphany. The readings include Isaiah 9:1-4, which speaks of those in darkness seeing a great light, and the Gospel Lesson from Matthew 4:12-23, which tells of Jesus moving to Capernaum to fulfill Isaiah’s prophecy. Jesus begins proclaiming, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near," and calls Simon (Peter), Andrew, James, and John to be "fishers of people". He then went throughout Galilee teaching, proclaiming the good news, and curing every disease and sickness.
