How is your trust this Advent season? We're reminded that despite the world telling us "the total opposite", we trust that on Christmas Day, the Kingdom was here and God "walked among us". As we continue our Advent journey, Pastor John Kearns from Emmanuel Lutheran begins to unpack the Old Testament reading for the Fourth Sunday in Advent: Isaiah 7:10–17.1 Today, we look at the "Trouble in the Text". King Ahaz, fearing invasion, was offered a sign by the Lord—anything "as deep as Sheol and high as heaven". Yet, Ahaz's response was, "I will not ask and I will not put the Lord to the test".
