Resources for Listening- Preachers to Congregations

Considerations when you want to livestream worship

The listening resource page is designed to help the congregation remain open to hearing the biblical text each Sunday. This tool is intended to support the preacher in guiding the assembly's engagement with the Word

Rev. Jean Kuebler

We are pleased to share that Rev. Jean Kuebler has graciously allowed Go Tell It In The Mountains to make her sermons available as a resource for our community. Our goal is to provide inspiration and support for clergy as you prepare for Sunday worship and seek continued spiritual guidance.

We have updated our website to include a dedicated page featuring available PDFs of Rev. Jean's sermons. Please note that this page will be updated regularly moving forward with new materials to assist in your growth and the preparation of your services.

We hope these resources serve as a valuable tool for your ministry. You can access the collection at the Link Below.

Rev. George Whitefield

How to Listen to a Sermon by George Whitefield
George Whitefield's directions for listening to a sermon emphasize the importance of sincerity and personal application.
This excerpt is adapted from Sermon 28 from The Works of the Reverend George Whitefield. Published by E. and C. Dilly, 1771-1772, London. George Whitefield (1714-1770) was a British Methodist evangelist whose powerful sermons fanned the flames of the First Great Awakening in the American colonies.

Rev. Scott E. Schul

Rev. Schul has kindly shared an example of using an element in the liturgy (the Prayer of the Day) to highlight the dominate theme of the Gospel lesson. The Prayer is one with a long history - it dates back to the 7th century - and so it allowed me to do more than simply teach the spiritual "takeaway"; it enabled the people (via the prayer) to engage it alongside 14 centuries of Christians who have likewise been struggling to deal with temporary suffering without sacrificing their eternal relationship with Christ.
